What data we collect and why

This website does not run analytics, advertising or tracking. The personal data we receive comes from three sources: the interest form on the Live Here page, emails sent directly to us, and the automatic technical logs described in the section on third-party services below.

Interest form

The residential interest form on the Live Here page collects:

• First and last name
• Email address
• Phone number (optional)
• Apartment preference
• Any additional message you choose to include

We use this information to add you to a waiting list and to contact you when a suitable apartment at Rufus Court Chester becomes available. By submitting the form you are specifically requesting this contact. We will not use your details for any other purpose.

How the form works

The interest form uses a mailto: link. When you submit it, your device opens your email client with your details pre-filled. You send the email from your own inbox. The message passes through your email provider's servers and ours before reaching our inbox at info@rufuscourt.co.uk. It is not intercepted or stored by this website, but both email providers will have technical access to the message in transit and may retain it in accordance with their own policies.

Emails sent directly to us

If you email us at info@rufuscourt.co.uk directly, we will hold the contents and your contact details for as long as is necessary to deal with your enquiry. Residential letting enquiries may be passed to Thomas Property Group, our managing agent for residential lettings. Commercial enquiries may be passed to JPM, our commercial managing agent. Neither agent will use your data for any purpose other than responding to your enquiry.

Lawful basis

We process your data on the basis of legitimate interests. You have made a specific request to be added to a waiting list or have contacted us with an enquiry, and we have a clear, mutual interest in responding. We do not use your data for unsolicited marketing.

Who we share your data with

Residential tenancy enquiries may be passed to Thomas Property Group, our managing agent for residential lettings at Rufus Court. Commercial enquiries may be passed to JPM, our commercial managing agent. We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any other third party.

Third-party services

The What's On events feed on the homepage is loaded from a Google Sheets spreadsheet. Your browser sends a request to Google's servers containing your IP address and browser details. We do not share your name or contact details with Google. Google's use of that data is governed by Google's privacy policy.

Retention

We will hold waiting-list details until one of the following happens: a suitable unit becomes available and we contact you; you ask us to remove you from the list; or 12 months pass with no availability, whichever comes first. You can ask to be removed at any time by emailing info@rufuscourt.co.uk.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Have inaccurate data corrected
• Request that we delete your data
• Restrict how we use your data
• Object to our use of your data
• Receive your data in a portable format
